Albufluor
Fluorescein is being used in over one million procedures each year in Europe and in the U.S. as a contrast agent for ophtalmic imaging procedures. Albufluor is a derivative of fluorescein, which displays superior pharmacokinetic properties by virtue of a stable non-covalent binding to serum albumin, making this product an ideal contrast agent for the imaging of vascular ocular defects.
The product, which derives from Philogen’s activity in DNA-encoded chemistry,
has displayed an impressive performance in animal models and is scheduled to enter Phase II clinical trials in H2 2010.
